B.A. in Public Policy at DePaul University, Chicago 2004

I have recently graduated from DePaul University, earning a B.A. in Public Policy with a concentration in Urban Studies; however, I have sculpted my curriculum to be more encompassing of general societal issues such as sustainable development and globalization. My short-term [and somewhat long-term] goals are to work for a non-profit organization addressing either civil rights issues or animal advocacy while attending graduate school for Nutrition and Oriental Medicine.

As for my dealing with invasive species, I think the most promising method of control is to try to continually monitor our environment and stop exotics before they become seriously harmful economically and socially. So, I feel prevention, as well as, early detection and immediate response are the best ways to deal with invasives.

Undergoing this project has been an enlightening experience for me. I have learned a lot about the enormous impact of seemingly inconsequential things, such as a small flower or mussel. This has opened up my eyes to even more issues surrounding globalization and things society needs to be aware of and consciously take action against.
