Qualifications:
In order to be considered for this travel scholarship (which includes airfare, hotel accommodations, and registration fees), the applicant must submit a minimum 10 page paper from a Geography course taken at DePaul University during the previous calendar year or an AAG Formatted Poster. Also, you must be a declared Geography major by the end of Fall Quarter of 2007 to be eligible for the 2008 award.
2008 AAG Information:
The 2008 meeting will be held in Boston from April 15th – 19th. More information can be found on the AAG website at www.aag.org.
Submission Information:
All submissions should be made to Kristin Wood, the Geography Department Assistant (Room 4301 of the 990 W. Fullerton Building, kwood2@depaul.edu / 773-.25-8603), by 12:00pm on December 20, 2007. Email submissions will be accepted only for papers; posters must be submitted in person. Neither the Geography Department nor the Department Assistant are responsible for corrupt or missing email submissions. You must also include a copy of the original assignment of the paper or poster that you submit. Late submissions will not be considered. Winners will be selected by a committee of Geography faculty who will review the submissions and announce the results in early January. Please note that the Department Assistant will remove all names from papers before they are reviewed by the committee. Further, if submitting a poster, you should not put your name anywhere on the poster - but please also submit or email a short description of the poster with your name so the Department Assistant can keep track of which poster was submitted by each student. For more information on this scholarship please contact the office at 773-325-7669 or speak to any geography faculty member.
