In the image below, there are two possible outcomes of point in polygon overlay.

1. You join point (many) to polygon (one), whose result is shown in the upper right.
2. You join polygon (one) to point (many), whose result is shown in the lower right.

If you do option 1, which of A, B, C should be written to the column Class? On the other hand, if you do option 2, all of class values of three points are written. It is necessary for you to join a one-side layer to a many-side layer not to lose information. Therefore, a target layer will be tract, and a source layer will be community in Lab12. In other words, you will join community area to tract. Just remember one to many!
