Quizzes will be given after lectures (about 10 minutes) on the date specified in the tentative schedule. Quizzes have two parts: One is a map quiz, and the other is a short answer. You should identify the location of geographic features in a map that will be provided during the quiz. Please look at quiz preview and instructions posted in the course website.

Midterm and final exam will be of mixed format, including multiple choice, filling in the blank, and descriptions. Some of problems in quizzes will be included in the exams. Exams are non-comprehensive. Midterm covers the first half of lectures, and final covers the second half.

Extracedit will be given to those who submit the one-paged review or essay by e-mail. Review should include a summary plus a personal opinion regarding the subject being discussed. Short essay should include the answers to the essay question. Articles and essay questions will be posted on the web site upon the notification during the lecture.

Participation will count towards your final grade as an extra point.
